"This really was the greatest challenge I have come
across
in 20 years of skiing."
That
was the view of Terry Ride, our Managing Director, who took
part in the 2002 White Peaks Challenge. "Never before
have I skied so hard and fast for so long. The challenge
was to complete 24 peaks (covering four different ski resorts
in the heart of Salzburgerland) in 48 hours and we did,
raising and amazing £135,000 as a group for Scope.
It was a wonderful experience personally, but to also raise
so much for charity was a great feeling. Thank you to all
customers, suppliers and friends who sponsored me."
Scope
is a national disability organisation whose focus is on
people with Cerebral Palsy. This is the most commonly diagnosed
physical disability in Britain today and affects more than
1,800 babies born each year. Cerebral Palsy is a condition
which jumbles the messages between the brain and muscles
and can make it hard to talk, sit or walk. Scope works with
people with Cerebral Palsy and their families and provides
a range of services to meet their needs and enable them
to lead the lives they choose.
